A Message from Our Principal

Dear Parents and Students of Nikolaus Homestead Elementary,

I’m excited to finally say “School is back in session.” Due to COVID-19 our last school year came to a stop abruptly at spring break. The two months of the 2019-2020 school year and the summer break have been long. I have missed you the past five months. I’m very much looking forward to school opening back up and seeing you again.

Our school campus and facilities have been cleaned, disinfected, and repaired. The campus is ready for students to enjoy in person learning once again. The custodial and maintenance staff have done an exceptional job preparing the school for a safe and comfortable place to learn. I truly appreciate the time and dedication all of our staff gives towards the success of our school.

Our teaching staff is well prepared and eager to teach again. They love teaching and are looking forward to having personal connections again with students.

This school year offers three options for student learning: On campus learning, SL @ Home learning, and Remote Learning. Please feel free to contact our school office about enrollment best suited for your child and family. We would be happy to answer your questions.

As we begin the 2020-2021 school year, I would invite your support in the following ways:

  • Make attendance a priority with whatever option for learning you choose.
  • Be involved with your child’s learning.
  • Ask your child to share experiences/ lessons about school.
  • Communicate with your child’s teacher questions or concerns.

Even during a worldwide COVID-19 pandemic I’m optimistic about a great school year. I hope you are too. Welcome back!
