Cougar News

We love busting out the megaphone to shout out good news from the rooftops. But just in case you couldn’t hear us, we’ve got it all right here. Tune in for important announcements and accolades about our stellar students and staff.

PTSO News

The book fair will be open May 3 through 5 and May 10 through 12 before school, during lunches, and after school until 3:30 p.m. and during family night. There will be a family night on May 12 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. All students will receive a raffle ticket to turn in if they attend for a chance to win a prize. There will be multiple prizes. May 24 is field day for all students during school hours. We will send more information for both events soon. We need volunteers for both events. The PTSO will be holding our last meeting of the year on May 12 at 8:30 a.m. This will be an election meeting. Anyone interested in being PTSO President, PTSO Vice President, PTSO Secretary, or PTSO Treasurer needs to come to this meeting. I cannot stress enough that if we are unable to elect officers on this date, there will be no PTSO next year. If you’re interested in volunteering for these events or would like more information on becoming a PTSO board member for the 2022–2023 school year, please email Nikolaus Homestead Elementary PTSO or message the PTSO on Facebook. As this school year comes to an end, I want to thank all of our community donors, volunteers, students, and staff for providing yet another awesome school year!! It has been an honor being PTSO President these last two years! –Priscilla White

Library News

Well, here it is... the final deadline for AR! The 100% goal is due on Monday, May 16, by 3:00 p.m. Many students have already made their goal and continue to read for an additional percentage over their 100%. The "Millionaires' Club" also continues to grow with over 30 members! A Millionaires' Club Luncheon will be in the Library on May 18. We will provide lunch with a cake and goodies for all students attending. Permission slips will be going out soon. A special congratulations to Richard Ogren, a fourth-grade student who has read over 4 million words this school year! It has been a busy year in the library! Finally, the Penny Wars has begun as a fundraiser for the library. Bring in any extra change for the books for the library. This fundraiser will continue until May 19. If you have any questions about the library or AR, please email Mrs. Wheeler or phone her at (928) 537-6150.
